Apply for a free technical content audit as part of the expert content research project.
I’m developing an approach to technical content audits for website businesses built on (lots of) expert content as part of a research project. The end product will (hopefully) be a series of findings helpful to those building and serving an audience around their content online.
I’m most interested in how experts can better leverage existing content for more and more relevant traffic by improving their information architecture (content organization, internal linking, relevance). Right now the dependent variables relate to traffic.
My Background
I’ve worked at the intersection of digital marketing (mostly search) and web design for six years, audited hundreds of sites, built around 50, and done a handful of large-ish scale technical migrations.
The Audit Process
Data is collected from website crawls and a variety of third-party sources (SEMRush, Ahrefs, Builtwith). It’s then loaded into a graph database and analyzed with scripts and readily available machine learning algorithms. This is still in progress but hoping to incorporate some nerd candy stuff like named entity recognition and knowledge graph thingz.
Sites that qualify
I’m looking for sites that are “audience-first,” with expert content on an ongoing basis to attract and serve an audience, typically through email subscriptions.
Sites that would benefit most have more than 500 pages of content and 5,000 monthly users. Sites with low numbers of inbound links or Google rankings may not see good takeaways.
If you’d like your site to be considered, please fill out the application below.
